Carlos Saldaña, Dave Ortega, Jav Solo and Enkyskulls at the LCX 2016!

Meet the talent joining us this year at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, CA this August 6 & 7.

Carlos Saldaña is a pioneering cartoonist who in the early 90s was part of a wave of DIY Latino comics creators. His signature character is Burrito, a scrappy adventurer who never says no to adventure.

Dave Ortega is an award winning arts instructor and cartoonist. His extensive catalog features "Abuela Y Los Dead Mexicans" and work in the 2012 BEST AMERICAN COMICS anthology. He joins us for his first Latino Comics Expo this year.

Jav Solo is a designer and illustrator from East LA. His work draws from Chicano culture, comics and wrestling, from both sides of the U.S./Mexican border.
 
Enkyskulls is a design and toy making brand run by Steve Guerra and Jessica Miranda. Their creations are hand-crafted and made in Los Angeles. They also organize numerous art shows throughout the year in addition to exhibiting on an extensive convention schedule.

The Latino Comics Expo Los Angeles will be held the weekend of August 6 & 7 at the Museum of Latin American Art. The event runs from 11am-5pm, both days.

MOLAA is located at 628 Alamitos Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90802. Admission to the Museum grants you entry to the Expo, panels & workshops.

Suemi Guerra, Rafael Navarro, Liz Mayorga and Ofloda Monstro at the LCX 2016!

Meet the talent joining us this year at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, CA this August 6 & 7.

Suemi Guerra writes and publishes the fiction zine SUICIDAL GOLDFISH. Her creative pursuits include music, creating hand-crafted objects d'art and adventuring throughout Los Angeles.


Rafael Navarro, Emmy Award-winning storyboard artist, is the creator of the long running cult classic Lucha Noir comic series, SONAMBULO. Rafael is also the co-creator (with writer Mike Wellman) and artist of the sci-fi adventure series GUNS A'BLAZIN'.


Liz Mayorga is a writer and cartoonist. She creates zines and comics, and her latest book, Bread and Butter, is being published by Rosarium Publishing. She's the former Director of the San Francisco Zine Fest.

Ofloda Monstro makes mini-comics. His paintings and illustrations are frequently displayed in gallery shows and comic shops throughout Los Angeles.

Vicko Alvarez, Philip Victor, Joon Alvarado and Ninoska Arte at the LCX 2016!

Meet the talent joining us this year at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, CA this August 6 & 7.

Vicko Alvarez is an educator and cartoonist. Her comic Scholar (it puts the 'chola' in 'Scholar'!) chronicles the adventures of a young girl living, and learning life lessons, in a working class Chicano neighborhood. Vicko is joining us for her first Latino Comics Expo.

Philip Victor is a writer, publisher and founder of Aerosol Press. His new comic is titled 'The Secret Life of Mexican Food' and will be debuting at the Latino Comics Expo. The artwork is by Rene Cordova of Guadalajara, MX. 

Joon Alvarado is a designer and illustrator. His work has appeared in animation, webdesign, gallery shows and anywhere he can apply his creativity to. This is his first appearance at the Latino Comics Expo.
Ninoska Arte is the art brand and studio of Jacqueline Ortiz and Hannibal Garcia. Their Dia de Los Muertos inspired art is handcrafted and comes in all shapes and sizes. In addition to creating, they also organize many art events in the Los Angeles area.

Jaime Hernandez, Raul the 3rd, Crystal Gonzalez & Candy Briones at the LCX 2016!

Meet the talent joining us this year at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, CA this August 6 & 7. 
Jaime Hernandez, the acclaimed cartoonist from LOVE & ROCKETS, the legendary comic book series he started with his brothers Mario and Gilbert Hernandez over 30 years ago. Jaime returns to join us once again. Don't miss your chance to visit with a true icon in the world of comics!

 Raul the Third, the award-winning artist and co-creator of the popular children's book series, LOWRIDERS IN SPACE, joins us for his first Latino Comics Expo. Raul created the artwork for our 2016 poster, and recently won a 2016 Massachusettes Cultural Council Artist Fellowship Award.

Crystal Gonzalez has been with us since our very first Latino Comics Expo back in 2011. Her creativity encompasses painting, animation and comics (IN THE DARK). Watch some of her animated shorts (featuring Skitzo the 1920s Killer Bear) on her Youtube channel.

Candy Briones is the creator of the comic TACO EL GATO, which will be published in an upcoming collection by Rosarium Publishing. We welcome her to her first Latino Comics Expo.
